Our CSA

What is a CSA?

CSA stands for community supported agriculture and is a system whereby members join at the onset of the growing season for a share of the anticipated harvest. We offer weekly shares of our superior-quality produce, across three seasons. Each week our members can expect a generous portion of the produce we have available at that time. Everything that we grow is included in our CSA with no additional add-on costs and everything that our members receive is grown or made by us.

Member Handbook

To help our CSA run as smoothly as possible for everyone, we have drafted a document of rules and responsibilities governing how our CSA runs. You can find these in the membership handbook.

CSA offered

We offer a 24 week Main Season CSA share that runs from May into October. Both full and partial shares are available. A partial share amount is generally about 2/3rds of what a full share receives each week. Members can pick their own flowers for free when they come to get their weekly share each Tuesday as long as they are available. See our “What’s New” page for the week by week list of offerings for our full and single share members.

Pickup details

The main pickup location is at our field in Mason, NH on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM-5:00PM.

Farming practices

All of the produce our customers receive is grown by us using regenerative agricultural practices. Because we know that healthy soil grows healthy food, we maintain our fields with soil-friendly methods that include: smart tillage, cover cropping, composting/manuring and crop rotation. Because we care about the health of our planet, our neighbors and our members, we do not use synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides or GMO seeds.

Swap policy

Our CSA shares are designed with flexibility in mind. You never have to take anything you might not want and can swap out items if desired. Members are also encouraged to take the amount of offerings that best suits their needs.

Discount policy

Our CSA members receive discounts off the retail price of any additional produce purchased directly from us during their membership season. If you join and refer a friend you will receive one free week of CSA.

2025 Main Season

  • Runs 24 weeks
  • Starts in May and runs into October
  • $624 total for partial and $936 for full
  • As most of our expenses come before each season begins, payment in full and upfront is our most desired way of receiving the money we need to operate this business. However, if you are not in a position to pay beforehand, then we offer a payment plan that allows you to pay either half or a quarter of the full amount throughout the season. For example In a 24 week CSA and if paying quarterly then the 1st payment is due before the season begins, the second payment is due before or on the 7th week, the third would be due before or on the 13th week and the last would be due before or on the 19th week. Each CSA member must be paid up for the week they are picking up.
  • We also partner with the Monadnock Farm Share Program for a limited number of shares each year. This allows people in need to receive a half price CSA share.
  • Checks can be made out to Hungry Bear Farm and sent our mailing address listed here.

Please note that it is less expensive to pay us by check than it is to use the PayPal buttons as they take a percentage of the payment share.
