Single Shares: 6 pieces summer squash/zucchini, 2 bulbs garlic, 1 lbs carrots, head lettuce, freshly cut herbs and choose 2 items from the “choice list”

Choices: bunch of beets with greens, 1 lb loose beets, 1/2 lb radishes, 1.5 lbs tomatoes( limited amounts), 1/2 pt cherry tomatoes, freshly cut chard, 5 pickling cucumbers, 2 slicing cucumbers, 1 cantaloupe melon, 2 Asian melons, 4 small heads cabbage, 3-4 kohlrabi, 1 lb. bag of green beans, 2 or 3 bulbs fennel.

Freshly Cut Herbs Available: basil & parsley, we also had some hot jalapeño peppers available

Wow I’ve been slacking in terms of putting the weekly CSA news on the site! Guess I’ll play “catch-up” with this post and try to do better moving forward.

7/21/20
Full shares:
4 summer squash/zucchini, 2 slicing cukes, 4 pickling cukes, 1 lb. green beans, 1/2 lb. radishes, 1 head lettuce. Choose 3 from: 3/4 lb. bag snap peas, 2 lbs. shell peas, bunch of chard, 1 or 2 heads cabbage, 3 kohlrabi, beet bunch with greens, 1 lb. carrots, asian eggplant, pt cherry tomatoes.

Single Share: 1 head lettuce, 1/2 lb. radishes, 1 lb. green beans, 3 summer squash/zucchini 1 slicer and 3 picklers. Choose 1 additional item from the full share choice list

Herb choices: cilantro or parsley

6/23/20

Everyone got: 1 head lettuce and 6 garlic scapes. Full Share choose 4 from cabbage, 1 lb radishes, 1 lb hakuri turnips 1 lb carrots while they lasted, 2 kohlrabu, 1 bunch kale, 2 zukes while they lasted. Single Shares choose 2 from “choice list”

Everyone got: 1 head lettuce, 1 bunch kale, 6-8 garlic scapes. Full Shares choose 3 from 1 lb carrots, 1 lb onions, 1 lb radishes, 1 head cabbage, 2 kohlrabi, 1 bag chard, Singles take 1 from that list.

Everyone got: 1 head lettuce, 1 bunch kale and 1 napa cabbage. Full shares got to choose 2 from 1 lb onions, 1 lb carrots or a bunch radishes

Rep. Chellie Pingree comments

Here is a recent statement from Maine’s Rep. Chellie Pingree who has a farming background and is one of the good politicians encouraging local food production.

“As the full impacts of the coronavirus pandemic become evident, we clearly must increase the resiliency of our food system. Our short-term focus is keeping farms in business, but if we want to ensure long-term sustainability, we’ll use this as an opportunity.


Farming has always been unpredictable, but this crisis has exposed a fragility in distribution, and a lack of equity in both access and production. We’re seeing an increase in extreme culling coupled with widespread product shortages; a farm system that is largely dependent on H-2A workers; few protections for farm workers; and devastating crop waste.


The Trump administration asserts that the food supply chain is healthy, but I’m hearing differently from those on the ground. Food banks in my district are competing with retailers to purchase food, and struggling to get it into the state. This highlights the need for a more localized supply chain. In Maine, we’ve seen a consumer shift towards local food producers. These farms now have the opportunity to demonstrate their importance and the quality of their products to a group of people who may not have otherwise been customers.


In the end, I believe the coronavirus pandemic can encourage a more sustainable food supply via production and distribution incentives. This shift would offer greater access for consumers, and revenue for farms via outlets for direct-to-market sales like farmers’ markets and CSAs, while at the same time helping to provide more locally sourced products for traditional options such as supermarkets.”

March 31 Everyone Gets: 2 storage onions, 1 bag of Tokyo Bekana, 1 pound choi, Choose 2 from: 10 oz bag greens mix, 8 oz bag of Komatsuna and Senposai.

2019 Weeks 12-22: Main Season CSA Share

8/27/19

Regular Share Everyone Gets: 1 lb green beans, 2 asian melons, 1.5 lbs of either carrots or beets, 1 pt cherry toms, 1 winter squash.

Regular Share Everyone Choose 3 items from: 2-2.5 lbs toms, 2-2.5 lbs sweet onions, eggplant, 1 lb sweet peppers, 1/2 lb Shishito Peppers, 5 pickling cukes, 1 cantalope melon, bunch of leeks.

Single Share Everyone Gets: 2 asian melons, 1 winter squash, 1 lb green beans, 1 lb carrots or beets, 1 pt cherry toms.

Single Share Everyone Chooses 1 item from regular share choice list. Hot peppers for anyone that wants them.

9/3/19

Regular Shares: 3 lbs potatoes, 2 asian melons, 3 garlic, 1 eggplant, 1 b shallots, pint cherry toms.

Take 3 from 1/2 lb gc, 1/2 lb shishitos, 1 lb sweet peppers, 2 lbs slicing toms, 1 lb carrots, 1 lb beets, bunch of leeks, 1/4 lb shiitakes, 1 lb bag of beans, 6 little peaches.

Single shares same as regular share but with no choices.

Everyone can choose hot peppers if they wanted any.

9/10/19

Regular shares: 1 spaghetti squash, 2.5 lbs onions, pint cherry toms, 1.5 lbs peaches: take 4 from 1/2 lb shishitos, 1 lb carrots, 1 lb beets, 1 lb sweet peppers, 1 delicata squash, 1/2 lb gc, 1 bunch leeks, 1 eggplant, 2 lbs tomatoes, 1 lb bag green or wax beans, 2 asian melon: hot peppers for all.

Single shares same 4 from regular list plus 1 additional from choice list.

9/24/19

Regular share 1 winter squash, 2 lbs onions, 1 eggplant, 1.5 lbs sweet peppers, 1 head cabbge.

Take 3 from gc, 1 lb beets, 1 lb carrots, 1/2 lb shishitos, 1 lb bag of beans, 2 lbs toms, pint cherry toms, 1 lb broccoli, 1 lb shallots, hot peppers for all.

Single shares same as regular without choices.

10/1/19

Regular: 1.5 lbs peppers, 1 head cabbage, 2 lbs yams. take 5 from 1 lb carrots, 1 lb shallots, 1.5 lbs beets, 2 lbs tomatoes, 3 garlic, 1 lb broccoli, 1 or 2 eggplant, 2 lbs parsnips, 2 lbs onions.

Single shares same as regular same but only 2 choices.

10/8/19

All got 2.5 lbs taters and 1/2 lb ginger.

Regular shares took 4 from 1.5 lbs beets, 1.5 lbs parsnips, 1 lb carrots, 1.5 lbs peppers, 1/2 shishito peppers, 1 or 2 eggplant, 1 head cabbage, 2 lbs onions.

Single shares take 2 from that list.

10/15/19

Everyone gets 2 butternut squashes and 1/2 lb ginger.

Regular shares take 4 and singles took 2 from: 2 eggplant, 2 lbs onions, 3 garlic, 1.5 lbs beets, 1.5 lbs peppers, 1 head cabbage, 1 lb carrrots, 1 delicata squash, 2 lbs potatoes, 1.5 lbs parsnips.

10/22/19

Everyone gets 2.5 lbs potatoes and 2 lbs onions.

Regular shares take 4 and singles 2 from; 1 lb carrots, 1 lb beets, 1.5 lb parsnips, 2 eggplant, 1 lb peppers, 3 bulbs garlic, 1 head cabbage, either 1/4 lb ginger or turmeric.

10/29/19

Everyone can take 3 lbs potatoes, 4 lbs onions, 1 jar garlic salt.

Regular shares take 3 and singles take 2 from 1 head cabbage, 2 eggplant, 1 lb carrots, 1 lb peppers, 1 lb beets, 1.5 lbs parsnips, 3 bulbs garlic, 3 lbs ws, 1/4 lb turmeric, 1/2 lb shallots.

2019 Week 11: Main Season CSA Share

Regular Share Everyone Gets: 1 Delicata Squash, 1 cantalope or 2 asian melons, 2 lbs. sweet onions, 1 1/2 lbs. of carrots, 3 bulbs of garlic.

Regular Share Everyone Chooses 4 from: 1/2 lb Shishito peppers, 1 lb sweet peppers, 2 lbs slicing tomatoes, 1 pt. cherry tomatoes, 3 fennel, 1 1/2 lbs of beets, 6 pickling cukes, 2 slicing cukes, 1/2 lb ground cherries, 1 regular or 2 asian egg plants, 1 lb green beans, 6 leeks, 3 summer squash.

2019 Week 10: Main Season CSA Share

Regular Share Everyone Gets: 3 lbs potatoes, 1 lb shallots, 2 asian or 1 regular eggplant, 1.5 lbs carrots.

Regular Share Everyone Chooses 4 From: 1 lb ground cherries, 1/2 lb Shishito peppers, 1.5 lb beets, 4 fennel, 2 slicers, 6 picklers, 3 pieces of summer squash or zucchini, 1 pint  cherry tomatoes, 2 lbs slicing tomatoes, 1 asian melon, 1 lb sweet peppers, 1 lb green beans.  Also, hot peppers for anyone that wants them.

Single Share Everyone Gets: take 2 lbs potatoes, 1 lb carrots, 1 lb shallots, 2 asian or 1 regular eggplant.
